The Oxmoor Auto Group will be transitioning to Single Sign On (SSO) for logging into the CDK applications. This change comes as part of new security regulations from the FTC known as the "Safeguard Rule", which requires programs that access customer data to be attached to a login that requires multi-factor authentification. By using SSO, the CDK application will meet this requirement. We will be doing a rolling migration of all dealerships into this program, and it will affect everyone that uses CDK.
What is SSO?
Single Sign On is when a system uses third party known verified secure credentials to log into their system. In the case of CDK, it uses your logon to Windows to verify your credentials and log you into CDK.
What's the migration schedule?
Migration will occur by store on the following dates:
Hyundai - Thursday 2/8/2024
Mazda - Tuesday 2/13/2024
Chrysler - Thursday 2/15/2024
Ford - Tuesday 2/20/2024
Toyota - Thursday 2/22/2024
Kia - Thursday 2/22/2024
Audi - Tuesday 2/20/2024
What will happen when I'm migrated?
Before migration, you'll notice 2 new icons appear on your desktop.
The CDK SSO icon will be used for the Drive application, and ConnectCDK will be used for web based CDK functions.
Once migration happens, you will no longer be able to log into the CDK Drive application with a user name and password. At this point, you will need to use the CDK SSO icon to access Drive.
How do I use the new SSO login?
When you double click on the CDK SSO icon, a page will open in your Edge browser that looks like this:
Simply click on the arrow in the center, and CDK Drive will launch. When it comes up, your CDK account will already be logged in. From there, work as normal.
What about the ConnectCDK icon?
If you only use CDK Drive currently, you will not need this function. If you are someone who uses the ConnectCDK website, this icon will allow you to bypass the login page and get into the system using your Windows credentials.
I tried the SSO login, but it logged me into someone else's account.
This process bases your CDK login on your Windows credentials. It is important that you are logged into Windows on your account so that CDK will have the correct credentials to work with.
To check if you are the user logged into Windows, click the Start button (4 squares) at the bottom of your screen. Your name should appear just above that button.
If your name is not there, simply click on the other name, hit "Switch User", choose "Other User" in the bottom left, and put in your login credentials. The CDK SSO icon should work normally now.
When I try to open the SSO link, it says I need Internet Explorer.
CDK requires the use of the Edge browser to emulate the Internet Explorer functionality that it uses. Because of this, Edge needs to be your default browser when opening up the CDK SSO link. To make this change, click on your start button and look for the Settings icon.
Open Settings and choose Apps on the left.
Click Default Apps, then search for Edge.
Click on Microsoft Edge, then click the Set default button at the top. You may then close the Settings window and the CDK SSO link should now work.
