Importing Settings from Chrome to Edge

Modified on Mon, 13 Jan at 10:01 AM

Often, it's advantageous to have multiple web browsers to work on different items.  But often, we have all of our settings saved on the browser that we primarily use, so changing to a different browser means a fresh start that we don't want.  Fortunately, we can pull all of our saved data over from one browser to another.  This article shows how to pull that data from Chrome to Edge.

First, Inside of Edge, select the 3 dots in the upper right of the browser window.

From the dropdown menu, select Settings.

Near the center of the screen, choose Import browser data

Now click the Import button next to Import data from Google Chrome

You may get a popup to enter your password.  If this happens, put in your Windows password.

That's it!  All your bookmarks, passwords, and settings will be pulled from Chrome and you can pick up with Edge right where you left off with Chrome.
